    Corey Blade: History of Flight

The ability to fly is a subject that has captivated the imagination of humankind ever since the first cave man looked upward to the heavens and gazed upon some prehistoric bird-creature gliding through the air with a giant dino-rodent clutched firmly in its beak. Our species may have been responsible for the invention of fire but until one of us figures out a way we can flap our arms and soar through the clouds unimpeded by the laws of gravity, color us unimpressed.

When Red Bull first came to us about developing a campaign around their annual Flugtag event, we started to daydream about this love affair mankind has with flying and then decided to explore it a little bit deeper. So, we turned to the only person we knew who was brave enough, wily enough, and not the least bit afraid to get his hands dirty in the pursuit of answers: Mr. Corey Blade.

In The History of Flight, Corey Blade takes us on an exciting journey as he travels across the globe to chronicle the inspiration behind some man’s early aeronautical contraptions. He doesn’t so much care about what these men did to spark advancements in aviation but rather why. Eventually, the series culminates with a no-holds-barred interview with one of the world’s most renowned thinkers and the man who invented the ornithopter: Mr. Leonardo DaVanci.

The resulting 5 YouTube videos are nothing short of masterful, and even compelled one viewer to label them as: “The bombest ass dippity dope movie” he’d ever seen.

Well said, sir. Well said indeed.
