Young teen/tween girls are using Instagram as a way to find out what their peers think of them. It’s subtle, and upon browsing may come off as innocent commenting and posting, but upon closer look (surprise, surprise), it’s a cut throat world.
Here’s a few need to knows: 1. Commenters will leave a rating 1-10, 1 is low (ugly) 10 is high (beautiful). Girls are hoping for the ultimate rating “BMS” (break my scale). 2. They’ll also leave a “TBH” comment. Yes, it still means to be honest, but what follows will either be a fluffy compliment or a brutal dis. I.e. “TBH you’re one of my best friends and I love you.” 3. Being obviously in a photo and not tagged in it is the ultimate teen girl betrayal.
